Blended Learning partners classroom instructional time with technology resulting in a personalized learning plan for each student that is tailored to his or her academic needs. Blended Learning also provides students with the opportunity to have a voice and a choice in both what they are learning, and how best to learn it. Our system allows teachers to frequently measure student growth and achievement.
BLENDED LEARNING CLASSROOMS
Walk into a Blended Learning class, and you may see: All students receiving targeted, direct instruction from a teacher; a small group of students receiving instruction from a teacher; groups of students working collaboratively; students working individually at computers to complete research-based online programs or varying levels of teacher-created online activities and project-based activities.
When students register at GBMS, they will gain online access to their classes through our learning management system, Moodle. The GBMS Moodle will provide students a personalized digital platform that, as they master content, allows them to move on to new, rigorous challenges that builds on previous knowledge.
A student’s personalized learning plan is available anywhere they can access the internet to reinforce concepts taught in school.
Data is easily accumulated from online learning allowing teachers to create personalized learning plans for each student and help students understand their strengths and challenges.
When your child leaves GBMS, they will possess character traits that will serve them throughout high school, college, and their careers.

GBMS will be an Extended Learning School. Our school day will run from 7:35 am to 3:55 pm Monday through Thursday.
Our Friday start time will be 10:00 am which will allow teachers to engage in school-wide professional development.
Students will attend school approximately five hours more per week which allows time for advanced classes, interventions and electives. Additional time will also allow for enrichment classes where students explore their unique interests.
The goal of the Beacon Network Enrichment program provides our students with a wide range of academic, S.T.EM. Sports, Arts & Culture and Leadership programming; that they would not normally be exposed to in the regular school day. Through the integration of technology and collaborative work of students, staff, families, and community partners we are working to prepare students with the academic knowledge, character development, and 21st-century leadership skills necessary for continued success. The BNS Enrichment Programming has contributed not only to the academic success of the Beacon Network but has also increased the demand of our school by more than 40%.
A Transitional Native Language Instruction Program will be implemented at GBMS and will provide Spanish-speaking students with instruction in their native language, appropriate supports when they are taught in English and specific courses in English language acquisition.
We are committed to providing students with the English language skills they need to meaningfully participate in the mainstream English Language instructional program. We also want to create multilingual citizens who will use their language skills throughout their lives and careers.
